You try something. It helps a little, or for a while - and then it doesn’t.
You go to appointments. Get imaging. Try procedures.
You start to wonder if anyone really understands what’s happening in your body, or if you’re just going to have to learn to live with this.

Maybe you’ve been told it’s stress.
Maybe you’ve been told there’s nothing more to do.
Maybe you’ve been told it’s “all in your head.”
Maybe you’ve started to wonder the same thing.

It isn’t.

And there’s more to the story than you’ve probably been told.

If you’ve been living with persistent pain,
you know the drill

THE SCIENCE

Pain is more than a damage signal

What research has shown over the past few decades is that chronic or persistent pain - pain that lingers long after an injury has healed, or that develops without a clear physical cause - involves the nervous system in ways that go well beyond simple tissue damage. Pain is not just a readout of what’s broken. It’s a signal your brain generates to protect you.

When that protection system stays switched on longer than it needs to - or becomes more sensitized over time - pain can persist even when the original cause is gone. This isn’t a character flaw or a mystery. It’s a pattern. And patterns can change.

The science of how and why this happens is genuinely fascinating.

And understanding even a little of it tends to shift something for people.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

There’s more to your story than your pain

That shift in understanding is what we’re after.

Not a quick fix. Not a promise that all your pain goes away and stays away forever. But a different way of seeing what’s happening - and it’s one that opens up new options and puts you back in the driver’s seat of your own life, moving toward what’s important to you again.

And that’s huge.

Everyone’s experience of persistent pain is different. What helps one person may not help another. At Insight Works, we believe in exploring and finding your own puzzle pieces - the combination of understanding, tools, and strategies that fits your own life and your own nervous system.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer - we’re not going to pretend there is. But what we do know is:

Stuck is not your story.

HOW WE HELP

Science-based education and coaching,
built around you

At Insight Works, our work is educational and skills-based. We translate the science of chronic persistent pain into plain language without jargon, and we help you explore and build practical tools to start working with your nervous system rather than against it.

There are several possible doors into changing your pain story, and all of them are effective. It just depends on what you’re looking for at this stage of your journey.

Pain Reset is a fast-paced 90-minute virtual class - one person said “it’s a little bit like drinking from a fire hose but in the best way.” You’ll get the science, a jumpstart introduction to some practical strategies, and a clearer sense of where to go from there.

1-to-1 coaching is for those who want a more personalized experience. This is a place to talk about your own pain experience, what direction in life is important to you, and what strategies and tactics can help you get there. You work on your specific situation and move forward with a coach, at your own pace.

Rewire Pain is a group program currently in development. It will be a slower, more in-depth group experience that sits somewhere between Pain Reset and 1-to-1 coaching. Stay tuned!
